In telecommunication medium can be wired or wireless. So, telecommunications is classified as wired or wireless communication. My area of interest is wireless communication which is because of its importance in our life. We use laptops, Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi has become one of basic necessity of life. Its relevance has increased in many unexpected direction. One of the latest award winning (Engineering Impact Award, RF and Communication category) research is development of a system which will help see people in motion by detecting Doppler shift effect of omnipresent Wi-Fi and mobile telephone signal. Another is about the muddle of wires across a patient’s body. The researchers are trying to get the ways of transmitting the data from human’s body through wireless means. According to me, developments which are for the people and their betterment always gives higher satisfaction. 2. Andrew S Tanenbaum: He has now retired from an active teaching and research life however he has many notable contributions towards telecommunication and computer networks. He is the author of the most commonly used computer network book.
