Conference Proposal

Research till date shows that the demand of mobile is increasing as they provide users information and communication anytime and anywhere. This increasing popularity of mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is increasing its scope of application and the need to provide Quality of Service (QoS). QoS support is a challenging task due to the unique characteristics of MANET.  Many research has been carried out to address some aspects of QoS support, mostly routing protocol, medium access control (MAC). However, QoS does not depend only these aspects. Even call drop have some impact on QoS. So, the literature review is about addressing the various causes of call drop and also to find the relation between QoS and call drop.

While reviewing the literature, I found that QoS depends on some of the factors which causes call drop. Factors like signalling, power, resource congestions, O&M Activity, configurations are the causes of call drop and also determines QoS (Verma, Sharma & Mishra, 2012). Some of these factors also depend on the technologies being used (Venkateshan, 2015). This means technology is the greatest connection between QoS and Call drop. Also, I have proposed that implementation of CDMA technology by spreading the bandwidth and allowing multiple users to use same frequency could be the predominant way to reduce call drop. In future, development of new relation between them can be found by addressing how call charges affects call drop rate and QoS.
